Transportation & DOT

Drilling for the highway corridors that can't go down. Tieback anchors, horizontal drains, and dewatering systems that keep DOT projects moving.

HIGHWAY WORK, JDC'S WAY

State DOTs and federal highway agencies have brought JDC in for one reason since 1966: the work that requires drilling expertise the average roadway contractor doesn't carry on staff. Active landslides under live travel lanes. Horizontal drain campaigns that run measured in miles, not feet. Tieback anchor systems that need to hold a grade beam wall through every freeze-thaw cycle the upper plains can throw at it.

Our DOT track record is concrete: an AGC-recognized installation, a North Dakota tieback project that pioneered post-tensioned slope stabilization for the agency, and a ten-year horizontal drain program on a Highway 20 corridor that stabilized multiple active landslides while traffic kept flowing through construction.

When a DOT calls JDC, the question we get is rarely "can you drill this" — it's "can you drill this faster than we're losing the road." That's the work we're built for.

WHAT WE BRING

  • Multi-strand tieback anchor systems for active landslide mitigation on highway corridors
  • Horizontal drain installation up to 1,500 feet in depth for slope dewatering
  • Deep well and wellpoint dewatering for shaft and tunnel construction
  • Crane-suspended platform access for high-slope rock bolt and soil nail work
  • Around-the-clock multi-rig operation when the schedule requires it
