ENGINEERED FOR THE CONDITIONS
A lot of the geotechnical drilling work JDC takes on can’t be done with off-the-shelf equipment. So we’ve spent six decades designing, building, and refining our own — rigs purpose-built for crane-suspended slope work, barge-deployed anchor installation, large-diameter relief wells, and the access challenges that come with mountain, marine, and mine sites.
JDC-Manufactured Drilling Equipment
JDC designs and manufactures specialty drilling equipment in-house for the work standard equipment can't handle. Products including slotted PVC pipe, drill bits, adapters, and drill pipe are sold nationally.
Crane-Suspended Platforms
For high-slope drilling work, JDC uses platforms suspended by crane rather than rope access — safer, more accurate, and faster to position for production drilling.
Horizontal Drain Capability
Drains installed from 30 degrees below to 60 degrees above horizontal, up to 1,500 feet in depth. Used for landslide stabilization across a wide range of soils and rock formations.
Air Percussion Drilling — 3" to 24" Diameter
Air percussion drilling from 3-inch to 24-inch diameter, paired with air and fluid rotary drilling — covering the formation and casing-size range most specialty drilling work calls for.
Case Drilling Capabilities — 3" to 24" Diameter
Case drilling across the 3-inch to 24-inch diameter range for sites where casing during drilling is the right call — including continuous, uncontaminated sampling in sands and gravels.
Sonic Drilling Capabilities
Sonic drilling is part of JDC's specialty toolkit. Detailed equipment specifications and project applications coming soon.
