THE PROBLEM

Open-pit operations and tunnel projects depend on keeping water out of the working face. The drainage scope is rarely simple — angles, depths, and access constraints push it well past what standard drilling rigs can handle, and the operating schedule rarely allows for trial-and-error.

JDC'S APPROACH

JDC's horizontal drain program installs drains up to 1,500 feet in depth, at angles from 30 degrees below to 60 degrees above horizontal — depths and angles that open up drainage solutions standard rigs can't reach. The same toolkit handles horizontal-to-vertical drain transitions in tunnel applications, where the work has to follow the bore.

Our equipment — much of it designed and manufactured in-house — and our decades of drainage-drilling experience are what we bring to a mine drainage project.
