Mining

Drainage drilling for open-pit operations and tunnel applications — backed by decades of horizontal drain expertise.

DRAINAGE DRILLING FOR MINING

JDC's mining-sector work centers on what we do best: horizontal drains for slope drainage, and the specialty rig capability to install drains across a wide range of geologic formations and access conditions. Our drains are installed up to 1,500 feet in depth at angles from 30 degrees below to 60 degrees above horizontal — depths and angles that open the door to drainage solutions standard rigs can't reach.

Our mining drainage work has included surface drains in open pits and horizontal-to-vertical drain installations for tunnel applications. The same drilling toolkit — including reverse-circulation flooded wells and JDC-manufactured equipment — applies to mining drainage problems wherever the geology demands it.

If you're evaluating drainage scope for an open-pit operation or a tunnel project, we're happy to discuss feasibility and provide a price estimate.

MINING TOOLKIT

  • Horizontal drains up to 1,500 feet in depth
  • Horizontal drain angles from 30 degrees below to 60 degrees above horizontal
  • Horizontal-to-vertical drain transitions for tunnel applications
  • Large-diameter reverse-circulation flooded wells
  • JDC-manufactured equipment built for the geology, not the other way around
