John Jensen Sr. organized Jensen Drilling Company (JDC) in Eugene, Oregon in 1966. JDC incorporated in 1973 and three new partners John Jensen Jr., Jerry Jensen and Jeff Jensen joined the company. Also in 1973, the company opened an office in Alcoa, Tennessee to better serve clients in the Eastern United States. JDC offers construction related drilling services to various engineering and consulting firms as well as to Federal and State agencies. John Jensen Sr. retired in 1980. In 1996 JDC further expanded by opening an office in Antofagasta, Chile. JDC constructs horizontal drains in South American open pit mines, and horizontal to vertical drains in tunnel applications.
Since its inception JDC has provided a wide variety of drilling expertise, ranging from small exploratory projects to multi-million dollar construction projects throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, South America and Africa. Technical capabilities include, air and mud rotary drilling, relief wells and large diameter flooded reverse circulation wells, anchor and tiebacks, drilling and grouting, air and fluid core drilling, air percussion drilling from 3 inch to 24 inch diameter, horizontal and vertical drain drilling, and the ability to provide specialty drilling equipment and services for over-water and difficult access sites. Jensen Drilling Company offers a very wide range of drilling expertise to the construction and water industries.
With the retirement of Jeff Jensen in 2001 and John Jensen Jr. in 2005, Jerry Jensen is now the sole owner and president of Jensen Drilling Company. JDC has a staff of estimators and project supervisors who all work out of the Eugene, Oregon office and are prepared to bid and supervise projects throughout the world.

Chile Office Created
Office opened in Chile to better serve South American open pit mines.

Nuclear Core Drill Created
Drill was engineered and manufactured for core drilling at 3 mile island PA. Created to do what everyone else thought was “impossible.”
